Sakura, Tokyo, 2022 Spring

Thank you for visiting our website.  This is Yoko from iTWS japan.

Sakura is in full bloom in and around Tokyo right now. Although it is still a covid-19 pandemic, many people go out to see cherry blossoms. Today, I would like to introduce you to cherry blossom spots around Tokyo. I hope you can feel the spring of Japan.

This is the photo of the cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. It was completed in 1906 as an imperial garden, and has three different style gardens which means French Formal Garden, English Landscape Garden and Japanese Traditional Garden. It is a popular spot where you can enjoy about 1,000 cherry blossom trees.
(According to Shinjuku Gyoen, during cherry blossom viewing season, advance booking is required to enter the garden to alleviate congestion and prevent COVID-19 infections.)

This picture is the cherry blossoms of Meguro River. It is said this is the most popular cherry blossom viewing spot in Tokyo. Cherry blossoms along the river is so beautiful, and many people visit during the season.

Kamakura is located in Kanagawa prefecture, south of Tokyo. There are also many beautiful cherry blossom spots in Kanagawa, including Kamakura. I recommend the view from Kamakura Hasedera Temple observatory. It is a popular photo spot where you can usually see the sea, but you can enjoy the scenery of both the sea and the cherry blossoms especially in this season.

Well, this photo is near my house. Although it is not a tourist destination, I am looking forward to the cherry blossoms along the river every year. I think it’s wonderful that there is a nice spot like this in the neighborhood!

This is Ueno, where the zoo is famous for pandas. They are artificial flowers, but it looks kind of funny, so I took a quick shot.

Would you like to enjoy cherry blossoms? I hope you can visit Japan soon!
Thank you for reading. Have a nice week!
